Are the games available for free?
You can play the games for free. These are skills and understanding that should be taught in schools to everyone. But as it is not, we’re happy to do what we can. However, this takes time and hardware, so consider donating.
Do you save the data?
We save some of the data. We save the input to the AI and the output from it. We save a random the session ID also that cannot be connected to a user. We do not save any personal information, or user information apart from the anonymous session ID. So please do not add any personal information in the input to the games you do not want us to have. Check our guidelines for more information about this.
What do you do with the data?
It is saved for research purposes, to study what kind of hacks work against what kind of models and guardrails. Once we have this information, we will share this knowledge with the community through open source datasets for security testing, through presentations at conferences etc. Check our guidelines for more info.
Can I use these games for a group?
The AI backend is hosted locally in Finland. Hence the games are intended to be used by individuals and the backend can be slow or unreliable for a large group due to running on consumer grade hardware. We’ve blown a few fuses and motherboards. If you have a group you’d like to use the games with, please contact us first to discuss and agree on the timing and such of this. Check, again, our guidelines for more info.
I like what you do. Can I support you in some way?
There are multiple ways to support us. The simple way is to support us through donating money through our Buy me a coffee account. You can give a one-time donation or become a member. All the donation money will go to building HackAI and the backend to be able to serve more people and to build more games. For more info, check the Buy me a coffee-page.
You can also support us also through contributing on a game for a level or two, or to ideate and build an entire game with us. We will happily credit you as the creator.
Additionally, we always need testers for our new games, so if you want to be our alpha tester, please let us know through the contact form. Check our guidelines for more info on contributing.
I’d like one of the games for my company. Is this possible?
This is possible for some of the games and it is one of the ways we use to support building the games. Please contact Helheim Labs to discuss further.
What is the relation between Helheim Labs and HackAI?
Helheim Labs is the company Satu created to safeguard the intellectual property rights of what she was doing on her own time with her own devices from any current or future employer that would try to overreach their claim to her work and ideas, as she had seen happen to some people around her. It is also the legal entity to handle money separate from personal finances. Basically Helheim Labs was founded to enable Satu to do all sorts of fun stuff on her own time. As Satu is also the main mastermind and operator behind HackAI, they are quite closely linked at least in her mind.
Basically HackAI is the community edition and outreach where the aim is to help as much people as she can reach to understand AI, to build it better, and to keep people safer around a world where it is everywhere. Some of the games on HackAI will be used in the future to bring in revenue to keep the blinky lights blinking for HackAI.quest and to enable Satu, and others in the core team, to go to events to hold workshops to get people hacking AI. But HackAI is very much a non-profit kind of thing.
My question is not here. What do I do now?
Please send it to us through the contact form or email to contact@hackai.quest and we’ll answer it as soon as we can.
